First time to Germany!!!
When the rosters are realised on the 18th of each month (always an exciting time, next to pay day haha), I was not originally rostered for this flight but Birmingham, UK. However, due to certain language speakers needed for each flight, I was switched and got given Frankfurt. I really didnt mind the change, as it's one of my goals, while working as crew, to see as many new cities as I can.
As cabin crew we are often pushing our bodies to new limits. I had awoke just before midnight in Dubai, to catch the 3am flight out to Frankfurt. Arriving safely early hours of the morning in Germany, crew were extremely tried and I was no exception. With limited time in a destination we have a really tough decision to make, if we either sleep in or pluck up the courage and energy and stick our swollen feet into sneakers and go and explore the city - which is exactly what I did.
Post bus and metro trip, we eventually arrived down town "Frankfurt am Main", where I ticked off a few popular sightseeing experiences.
1. Romerberg

2. Kaiserdom

3. River cruise

With my belly full and eyelids aching, I headed back to the hotel to rest up. The flight had departed that morning and little did I know it would not be a normal flight back home. I had encountered my first serious medical incident on board. While serving coffee to passengers after lunch, a few rows ahead of me passengers all stood to their feet in panic, a woman had stopped breathing. Having extensive medical training months ago, I had administered oxygen and the woman began breathing and was healthy enough to continue flying. Emotionally and physically exhausted, I touched down in Dubai, for Jodi's system to cave in too. We were a man down and I had began to throw up and suffer from food poisoning. I had pushed my body too far...
Sometimes I need to tell myself that the most productive thing is to actually pause and take time to care for yourself and your wellbeing, inside and out. Don't take your own wellbeing for granted. You cant give of yourself, if you have nothing left in the tank!

Thanks for the life lessons Frankfurt
